Sequel to Time Travel

As I wrote to "Time Travel," my name is cited in somewhere of a review article of International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering vol.(2004). I read the abstract of the review article and thought it was very difficult for me to understand the article because I had not thought about such problems for a long time.

At the same time, I wanted to read the text of the article. But my old computer was not able to download the full text of the article. Recently I got a new computer and downloaded the full text. The article is a general review of many reviews about the multiphase chemical reactor and is 74 pages as the A4 size I looked for my name right away with my own eyes but could not find it. Next I got the word processor to read it and to search my name. The word processor found my name at once in following Table.

My paper is not directly cited. The general review article cited a review article which had cited my paper. The content of the review article was difficult for me as expected. But I found that the name of the author, who cited my paper, appeared repeatedly in the general review article. So I used the function of the word processor for searching the character string and chased the author's name.

As the result I understood vaguely the reason why my name appeared in the review. The author probably used my data for showing the validity of his model. I think my paper that was written about 40-year ago finished the role as a pioneer.

By the way I counted the number of the words used in the general review article by using the function of the word processor. The number was 31,209. I thought that it was natural that my eyes were not able to find one word, my name.

I think the performance of the word processor is wonderful. But I do not surprise because I continue to use the word processor from almost its beginning and to watch progress in its performances. But I am really surprised by the speed of the Internet system. The system found my name at once from almost infinitely many words on the world wide web. I cannot imagine even the outline of the mechanism. Until I met with my own case, I have used the search function of the Internet without intention. But now I know the enormous power of the Internet and feel a kind of fear.
