What's goin' on Eric?

These are a couple of questions that I get about 10 times a day.
Well here you go; Believe it or not I have a few Irons in the
fire sort of speak. I am still working on that future solo record.
I know...I know, my wife say's I'm slower than a commodore 64.
(She is such a computer geek) Hey! It's kind of hard to balance
a family (the boys are now 16 pounds of solid diaper) and a career...
Poor Daddy. At any rate I'm still at the drawing board.
The 415 live recordings are at a whole new level now. John Nymann
(Guitarist/ musical historian) and I not only went through a
hundred hours at least of live material but also rounded up all
the old members of the band to write and record a few bonus tracks.
We'll have that served up nice and hot for you very soon.
I haven't seen some of the
guys for almost 20 years. I can't wait to get together and kick
out the jams.
My boyhood idol and guitar
hero Ronnie Montrose contacted me about writing and singing on
his new solo album. I will be in great rock and roll company
with the likes of Sammy Hager, Mark Farner, Gregg Rolie, Tommy
Shaw, Alex Ligterwood and others who will be singing on tracks
as well. Drummer Eric Singer and bass player Ricky Phillips are
Ronnieﾕs awesome rhythm section. I don't know when this monster
comes out but judging from the musical piece that the man wrote
for me it will definitely be worth the wait.
To answer that Mr. Big question that haunts me day after day...NO.
I've read some trash talk about me from a former member of the
group who shall be named nameless. He has his first solo album
out and I guess he needﾕs the publicity. RIP MB. Shame on you
nameless person.
I played a Tsunami aid benefit at the Saddle rock in Freemont
CA. a month or so ago with a few EMB alumni. We only played 3
songs but the camaraderie of the group sparked me into playing
some more shows.ﾊ So... Mark Chole, Mark Holly, GiGi Gonaway
will be joining me in rocking the clubs this summer.
EMB 2005 is:
GIGI GONAWAY is a Bay Area studio and stage drummer whose
extensive discography reads like a Who's Who of contemporary
music. He has recorded with Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Whitney
Houston, George Benson, Regina Belle, Kenny G, Nils Loftgren
and Steve Winwood to name a few. He has been honored to perform
LIVE with Sheryl Crow, Chaka Kahn, James Taylor, Eric Martin
and the all-inspiring, Stevie Wonder.
Often referred to as a "singer's Drummer. For the past 10
years, Gigi has toured with Mariah Carey: Billboard's ARTIST
OF THE DECADE. From small intimate "club" dates to
100,000 seat arenas in the USA, Japan, Australia and all of Europe,
"I have loved and learned from all these experiences and
I carry the gift of music and the joy of drumming, in my heart
and soul everyday of my life."
MARK HOLLY has been a staple on stages throughout California.
His many years as a guitarist for San Francisco's Roadrunner
and the Sacramento based melodic rock band SEDONA saw him touring
up and down the west coast, sharing the stage with a virtual
who's who in Rock. Since 2001, he has toured in Europe, Japan
and across America, supplying his bluesy rock riffs to the Eric
Martin Band's signature sound. Mark also played guitar on Eric's
"I'm Goin' Sane" CD.
MARK CHOLE The bassist has been fighting the good fight
for over 25 years in the music business. He is one of the best-kept
secrets in the Bay Area; Mark has been described as a cross between
Larry Graham and Jack Bruce. "The Chol man" has more
chops than a butcher shop -EM.
