We are pleased to announce that we have teamed up with the wonderful
Mr Richie Kotzen and at his request developed the RK100 head
and RK4x12 signature amp and cabinet range, we feel very honoured
to be asked to produce a signature amp for a musician of Richie's
stature, especially as the only other product that Richie has
put his name to is the Richie Kotzen Signature Fender Telecaster,
and as we all know, very few players have been honoured with
a signature Fender guitar. The prototyping was finalised last
week at a live show in the UK at which Richie, using the prototype
RK100, confirmed that it was the finest tone he has ever used.
It is a new design from the ground up for us, similar in some
ways tone wise to Richie's beloved MK50 that he has been using
for the last 2 and a half years and on his last 2 albums "Change"
and "Get Up" but in Richie's words "angrier and
nastier". We should be going into production in late September
in readiness for the start of Richie's South American tour and
the Japanese tour and launch of the RK series in October, check
out www.richiekotzen.com for the dates etc. Guitarist
Magazine UK have covered the prototyping development and the
1st live performance of the new amp for a big feature due to
come out soon. Basic specs for the Head and cab are.
RK100
100 watt single channel Valve head, Valves 4 x JJ Tesla EL34's
output stage, 4 x JJ Tesla 12AX7 pre-amp, bias switch to set
the output stage for EL34's 6L6's 5881's etc. Totally hand wired,
all components bolted directly to the chassis.
Front Panel Controls
Guitar Input, foot switch input, Gain, Bass Middle Treble, Master
Volume, Presence, Standby and Mains switches, front panel made
of brushed stainless steel.
Rear Panel Features
Mains input, Mains and HT fuses, Impedance Switch, 4 / 8 / 16
Ohms, 2 x Speaker Sockets, Valve Powered Series Effect Loop,
Send and Return sockets, Rear Panel made of brushed stainless
steel.
Foot Switch
Labelled "HOT" with red LED switches amp between Hot
and Cool modes.
Cabinets
Head Cabinet made from 19mm Plywood lock jointed, finished in
Kotzen Black Tolex, black leather handle, all hardware screws
etc nickel plated.
Speaker cab made from Solid Pine, finished in Kotzen Black Tolex,
recessed black metal bar handles, custom grill cloth, recessed
stainless steel speaker socket panel. Fitted with Celestion Vintage
30's as standard, wired to 16 ohms.
Weights
RK100 25kgs, RK4x12 35kgs.

Two weeks? Uhm.... It's been
more like two months. I apologize for that... Hey gang time flies
when you are preparing for the arrival of two aliens.
All right where did I leave
off?
My adventure with the Tak
Matsumoto Group was amazing for me and the other guys as well.
There is something about camaraderie that makes the work seem
like fun. I have called Jack and Chris every Saturday since Iﾕve
been home (I'm such a little pest). You know, to just keep in
touch and laugh at the funny moments we shared on the road. I
have a few more pix from the TMG tour coming this winter to a
town near you.
So...now what? Has "E"
stopped playing all together? Has he retired? NO! I am just taking
a bit of a break thatﾕs all. It's going to be a whole new world
for me being a "Father"...I actually prefer "POP",
but Dad or Bawana will be fine with me. Mrs. M and I have baby
proofed, painted, built shelves and set up a communication system
(complete with state of the art monitor systems for each room
in the house). All systems go!! Now if I can just master the
art of rapid baby diaper changing I can breath easy for the big
day. I am counting down the hours my friends.... whew, you should
see my wife, she's beautiful mind you, but her pain threshold
is on its last thread. My woman is a rock. Man...how can you
girls do it, ya know carry for 9 months and force a smile on
your face. When you're asked, "How do you feel babe?"
your response is usually " Oh I'm fine". But you
know and I now know that if you read between the lines of "Oh
I'm fine" you are really saying; "I'm fine and
quit asking me ten times a day you freak O' nature." Well
I could be speculating.
Anyway back to music. I wanted
to put together something after the TMG tour but my fatherhood
duties were in demand. You try to go to childbirth classes and
newborn baby care 3 nights a week and try to be creative. Thatﾕs
not all together true. I am working on "Pure 2" at
the moment. I just cut some tracks for the song "Voodoo
kiss" (The oldie but a goodie from Mr. Biggie) with drums
loops and guitars. I am thinking about doing most of this CD
with original material (Ericﾕs fingers are crossed) and bonus
tracks like "Voodoo" and others. Got any Idea's? (Please
post them on the forum) I sure could use some help.

The South America and Japan bit of the tour are now finished.
I want to say that South America was really great!! I had never
played there before and I was so pleased with the response. I
didnt realize how many people new my work in that part of the
world. Japan was a blast as well. It was great to see some familiar
faces in the crowds...
Im leaving Japan this morning for New York where I will do press
for North America.
Also the song "get up" will be featured on the next
cd rom that comes with the Guitar One magazine....
